Army sweeps 2024 Armed Forces Cross Country

Jan. 20, 2024 - On a blistering cold day at Pole Green Park, Army Women and Men scorched through the competition to capture their consecutive team titles at the 2024 Armed Forces Cross Country Championship held in conjunction with the USA Track and Field National Championship here in Richmond, Virginia.

Jan. 24, 2023 - With a shot of Team USA Track and Field roster spots up for grabs and a chance at Armed Forces gold, Army standouts Sgt. Ednah Kurgat and Staff Sgt. Leonard Korir (both of Fort Carson, Colo.) lead their women’s and men’s team to gold during the 2023 Armed Forces Championship held in conjunction with the USA Track and Field Cross Country National Championship at Pole Green Park in Richmond, Virginia.

Jan. 11, 2022 - Air Force women and Navy men win team gold in both the Armed Forces Cross Country Championship held in conjunction with the USA Track and Field National Championship on Jan. 8 at Mission Bay Park.

Army wins men’s cross country championship, Marine marathoner takes gold for women

Jan. 23, 2020 - SAN DIEGO – Army men swept gold though bronze in both the Armed Forces Cross Country Championship and USA Track and Field men’s 10K race, run concurrently Jan. 18 at Mission Bay Park.

Feb. 4, 2019 - Sgt. Emmanuel Bor led the Army men’s team to gold in the Armed Forces Cross Country Championship Feb. 2 and said he was motivated by running with his younger brother and Olympian, Staff Sgt. Hillary Bor, who finished third.

Army wins 2018 Armed Forces Cross Country title
Army Spec. Leonard Korir of Fort Carson, Colo. defended his title at the Armed Forces Cross Country 10k Championship on 3 Feb. in Tallahassee, Fla., and led the Army team to its sixth consecutive title. Korir, from the World Class Athlete Program, blazed to victory in and the race was held in conjunction with the USA Track and Field Cross Country National Championship. Korir said he used his resiliency and determination to win as this was one of the best cross-country fields ever assembled. Army teammates Haron Lagat, the 2017 Army 10-mile champion claimed the Armed Forces silver medal, and Augustus Maiyo, the 2016 Army 10-mile champion, took home the bronze medal.
Feb. 6, 2018 - Army Spec. Leonard Korir of Fort Carson, Colo. defended his title at the Armed Forces Cross Country 10k Championship on 3 Feb. and led the Army team to its sixth consecutive title. The race was held in conjunction with the USA Track and Field Cross Country National Championship, and Korir out-dueled two-time Olympic medalist Galen Rupp for top honors.

Feb. 13, 2016 - Three Soldiers and a Navy lieutenant are among the top 10 runners in America with Army taking the men’s and women’s team titles in the 2016 Armed Forces Cross Country Championships on Feb. 6 at Rivers Edge Golf Course.

Feb. 10, 2015 - BOULDER, Colorado (Feb. 9. 2015) -- The All-Army men swept the top six spots and the women claimed four of their top six positions as the black and gold dominated the 2015 Armed Forces Cross Country Championships on Feb. 7 at Flatirons Golf Course.

Feb. 18, 2014 - (Boulder, Colo) – Navy Lieutenants Amanda Rice (Atsugi, Japan) and Gina Slaby (NAS Little Creek, VA) took individual Women’s Cross Country gold and silver respectively to lead the Navy Women’s Cross Country team to the top of the podium at the 2014 Armed Forces Cross Country Championship on 15 February in Boulder, Colo.
