By Armed Forces Sports Armed Forces Sports

Marine Cpl. Adrian Brown pounds in a rebound during the 33rd minute, dropping Army 1-0 to win match four of the 2016 Armed Forces Men’s Soccer Championship held at Fort Benning, Ga. on 9 May.

Marine Corps’ offense continued to work their opponent’s defense hard and found the back of the net on Brown’s solid kick off a rebound.

In the final minutes of the match, Army unleashed a barrage of shots on goal.  However, the Marine defenders held the line raising their record to 1-1.

The 2016 Armed Forces Championship format consists of round robin play, where each team faces one another once for seeding.  The top two best records will face one another in the championship match to claim the 2016 Armed Forces crown.
