Growing up in the lakefront city of Milwaukee, Christyn Gaa could shoot hoops, dribble a soccer ball and hit softballs. Years later, while studying nursing at Marquette University, she even joined an intramural basketball squad.

Nicholas Sterghos faced a crossroads in his athletic career. During his first two years at the U.S. Military Academy, multiple fractures, aches and ankle injuries contributed to him missing time running with the Black Knights’ cross country and track teams from 2005-2006.

Sailor wins seventh Army Forces Triathlon, as Navy dominates the field

Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kyle Hooker raised his arms as he won his seventh Armed Forces Triathlon championship on an overcast day at Point Mugu Beach Saturday.

Athletes from every service branch will compete to determine the top triathletes in the military at the 2024 Armed Forces Triathlon Championship this weekend.

Navy Men and Marine Corps Women Capture Armed Forces Triathlon Gold

Navy men defended their title as the Marine Corps Women won team gold for the first time since 2008, during an exciting Armed Forces Triathlon Championship held at Point Mugu Beach aboard Naval Base Ventura County, California on April 1st.

Navy Sweeps Men and Women Team Golds at 2021 Armed Forces Triathlon

2020 Armed Forces Sports Championships Cancellations

As leadership continues to monitor the current COVID-19 guidance from the Department of Defense and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Armed Forces Sports Council has made the decision to cancel all Armed Forces Sports Championships and events through September 30, 2020.

USA’s Coyle wins triathlon gold in China

In the final competition of the World Military Games in China, USA’s Judith Coyle finished the triathlon in 2:10:48 to win a gold medal Sunday in the women’s senior division and propel her mixed senior team to a silver medal.

U.S. service members watched colorful pageantry Friday evening during the opening ceremony for the 7th CISM Military World Games.

NAVAL BASE VENTURA COUNTY - POINT MUGU, Calif. (June 9, 2018) U.S. Navy Lt. Kyle Hooker of Bremerton, Wash. finishes in first place for the fourth year in a row at the 2018 Armed Forces Triathlon Championship. During the triathlon, service members competed both individually and as a team to Olympic distances of a 1,500-meter (approximately 1-mile) open-water swim, followed by a 40-kilometer (24.8-mile) bike ride, and finishing with a 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) run. Naval Base Ventura County will host the 2018 Armed Forces Triathlon Championship here June 6-10. This event will feature men and women teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force along with athletes from the Coast Guard competing on the Navy team.

POINT MUGU, California – Navy Lt. Kyle Hooker won the Armed Forces Triathlon Championship men’s title for the third straight year with a time of 1:50:12 at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu, California, on June 10.

Navy Lt. Kyle Hooker of NAS Jacksonville, Fla. won his second straight Armed Forces individual gold medal and led Navy to team silver.  The 2016 Armed Forces Triathlon Championship was held at Naval Base Ventura County, Calif. on 18 June.

WASHINGTON (Army News Service, June 18, 2015) -- Navy Lt. Kyle Hooker led the Armed Forces Triathlon Championship all the way to finish his run in a torrential downpour with a combined time of 1:51:24 in Hammond, Indiana, June 7.

Navy Men and Air Force Women take Armed Forces Triathlon Gold

The U.S. Navy men’s triathlon team repeated its 2013 first-place finish in this year’s Armed Forces Triathlon Championship Saturday, May 31, at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu. The Navy women’s team, which won the gold medal last year, had to settle for third-place this year, falling victim to a strong returning Air Force team, which placed first, and a new but powerful Marine Corps team that took home the silver.
