Men's and Women's Armed Forces National Championship Added to 2023 USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex Event Schedule
Another marquee softball competition has been added to the 2023 USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex event schedule as the Armed Forces Men’s and Women’s National Championship is set to make its debut at the Softball Capital of the World® this summer. Slated to take place August 6-9, top-level athletes from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps will form teams in their respective branches with the coveted National Championship title on the line. The 2023 event marks USA Softball’s second time to host the prestigious Armed Forces National Championships following the 2014 event held at Edmond Route 66 & Sports.

Air Force dominates 2022 Armed Forces Men’s Softball Championship

Aug. 28, 2022 - Air Force defeated host Army in the championship game 16-8, to capture their second straight Armed Forces Men’s Softball Championship at MG Dinges Sports Complex here at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Aug. 27, 2022 - Tech. Sgt. Derek Lambertson of Hurlburt Field, Fla. knocked in five runs to lift Air Force over Marine Corps in their final game of the day two of the 2022 Armed Forces Men’s Softball Championship. The victory over the Marines helped Air Force maintain their lead after the second round of the triple round robin played here at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. 

Navy captures first women’s softball gold since 1985
U.S. Navy wins gold for the first time since 1985, defeating Air Force 20-17 in the championship game.  The 2021 Armed Forces Women’s Rugby Championship held at Fort Campbell, KY from 11-13 August.  Service members from the Army, Navy (with Coast Guard personnel, and Air Force (with Space Force personnel) battle it out for gold. Aug. 17, 2021 - The U.S. Navy, powered by the bat of Seaman Patsy Erwin of Naval Station Mayport, Fla., ended their 36-year wait for Armed Forces Women’s Softball gold with a 20-17 win over three-peat defending champions Air Force on Friday at the South Sports Complex at Fort Campbell, Ky.
