By Steven Dinote Armed Forces Sports

Air Force Men hung on to capture their 10th straight Armed Forces Golf title and Navy Women dominated in their three-peat at the 2013 Armed Forces Championship at Marine Corps Recruiting Depot Parris Island, SC.

Air Force men led by 2012 CISM World Military Championship 2d Lt Thomas Whitney (F.E. Warren AFB, WY), held on to a slim lead after day three over the Marine Corps, but then dominated the last day of play to take their 10th title.  Marines finish with silver over the Army at third and Navy in fourth.

Navy women led by LT Nicole Johnson (SUBASE Kings Bay, GA) and 2012 CISM World Military Golf women's silver medalist, led the Army by 57 strokes to take their third straight Armed Forces Golf Title.  Army won silver with Air Force in third and the Marines in fourth.

Whitney finished the Armed Forces Championship in first place at 7-under par.  Air Force Maj Andy Aduddell (Luke AFB, AZ) shot 2-under par to earn silver; and Army 1LT Morgan Montgomery's 1-under par was enough to take the bronze.

Johnson led the women by 21 strokes to take the gold.  Fellow Navy teammate CAPT Jackie McClelland (NAS Jacksonville, FL) took the silver and Army COL Shauna Snyder (Fort Belvior, VA) shot for bronze.
