USAF WOMEN AND ARMY MEN BOWL THEIR WAY TO OVERALL TEAM GOLD

Lackland AFB, TX - The Skylark Lanes was filled with bowlers from across the Services to compete at the 2012 Armed Forces Bowling Championship 14-18 May at Lackland AFB, TX. The Air Force Women cruised their way to overall gold throughout the tournament by knocking down 19,328 pins.  The Marines took silver, followed by the Army and Navy.  Overall women’s champion was Capt Danielle Crowder (USAF) with 5,069 pins.  MSgt Wanda Volpp from the Marine Corps earned silver with 4,832 pins; with USAF TSgt Kristin Odekirk knocking down 4,820 pins. 
 
On the Men’s side, the Army led by over 600 pins on their way to gold.  USAF squeezed by the Navy for silver, with the USMC Men placing fourth.  USAF SMSgt Marty Bedford captured gold with 5,646 pins.  Army’s SPC Adam Ahmad grabbed silver by bowling a total of 5,532 pins.  Navy’s DC2 Mike Zyllus took bronze with 5,353 pins.
