Army Captures Ninth Armed Forces Rugby 7’s Title

Not a single point scored against Army as they continue their undefeated streak to win their ninth Armed Forces Men’s Rugby here at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colo.

Army ran the table outscoring their opponents 168-0 throughout five matches to hoist the gold for the second straight year. 

Going 3-1 in pool play, Air Force earned a rematch to face Army in the championship match. 

Army opened up the match early scoring 21 points by half-time. During the second half, Air Force looked to gain momentum, but Army had a counter to every move. 

In the end, Army defeated Air Force 38-0. 

Air Force captured the silver, and first since 2021. Army has not lost a match since 2014. Army opted out of the 2021 Armed Forces Championship due to COVID concerns.  

Marine Corps finish third going 2-2 with wins over Navy and Coast Guard.  

Navy finish fourth, with Coast Guard trailing in fifth. 

The 2023 Armed Forces Men’s Rugby Championship has been held in conjunction with the Rugbytown 7’s Tournament in Glendale, Colo. since 2012. At the end of the Championship, Glendale City Mayor Mike Dunafon presented medals to the teams along with retired Marine Corps Lieutenant General Lewis Craparotta.
