Enlisted Airman Competes for Team USA in 2019 CISM Military World Games

Dec. 3, 2019 - He was the youngest and only enlisted member from a team of 14 service members from all branches of the Department of Defense on the U.S. swim team to compete at the 2019 CISM Military World Games.

Oct. 18, 2019 - U.S. service members watched colorful pageantry Friday evening during the opening ceremony for the 7th CISM Military World Games.

Swimming Pool - Qualifying standards for Swimming Events:  Applications must contain swimming times from sanctioned USA Swimming/NCAA competitions/US Masters Swimming within the last 18 months.  The times below are the minimum standards and reflect an average of qualifying times from five higher level competitions (2017 US Open [SCY]/Olympic trials [LCM], 2019 National Championship and Spring Sectionals, 2017-2020 National age group [A’s 17&18] and the 2019 Pacific Swimming Seniors Championship).

Lifesaving Events (Swimming Pool & Ocean):  Applications must contain the below information. Team members will be selected by application based on various skill sets.  Running, swimming, and lifesaving skills will all be factored in.  Applications must include the following:

  • Provide 5K and 10K run times in last two years
  • Provide swim times for 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle
  • Provide times for 1500m open water swims  (Split times for open water Olympic distance triathlon competitions will be accepted)
  • Other lifesaving information such as military billets (Coast Guard/Navy SEALS)
  • Specialty water rescue equipment training and certifications
