Oct. 18, 2019 - U.S. service members watched colorful pageantry Friday evening during the opening ceremony for the 7th CISM Military World Games.

Navy men, Air Force women earn gold in Armed Forces marathon competition
The 2018 Armed Forces Marathon Championship held in conjunction with the 43rd Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. on October 28, featuring service members from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
Oct. 29, 2018 - Navy lieutenant Patrick Hearn and Army first lieutenant Lindsay Gabow finished today’s 43rd running of the Marine Corps Marathon as the top male and female Armed Forces team runners, respectively.

Army Repeats Sweep of Men’s and Women’s Armed Forces Marathon Gold
Army Capt. Megan Curran with a time of 2:50:24 wins the 2017 Armed Forces Women's Marathon Championship held in conjunction wtih the 42nd Marine Corps Marathon on 22 October in Washington, D.C.  Curran placed 2nd overall in the Women's Division of the Marine Corps Marathon.  Curran won the Women's Division in 2014 and placed 2nd overall in 2016.
Oct. 23, 2017 - Army Capt. Megan Curran returned to podium to capture her third Armed Forces Women’s gold in four years with a time of 2:50:24, leading Army women to their second straight team gold medal during the 2017 Armed Forces Marathon Championship held in conjunction with the 42nd Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. on October 22.

Army Spec. Samuel Kosgei (Fort Riley, Kansas) crossed the finish line with a time of 2:23:53 to win his second Marine Corps Marathon and Armed Forces gold. The 2016 Armed Forces Marathon is held in conjunction with the 41st Marine Corps Marathon on 30 October in Washington, D.C.
Nov. 2, 2016 - Army Spec. Samuel Kosgei (Fort Riley, Kansas) crossed the finish line with a time of 2:23:53 to win his second Marine Corps Marathon and Armed Forces gold.

Nov. 2, 2015 - Running in his first marathon, Army 2nd lt. Trevor Lafontaine of West Point, N.Y. crossed the finish line with a time of 2:24:25 to win the Marine Corps Marathon Men’s Division and take Armed Forces gold.

Oct. 26, 2014 - Army Spec. Laban Sialo (JB San Antonio, TX) finished second overall with a time of 2:23:48 and Navy PO2 Justin Turner (Fleet Readiness Center SW, CA) completed the podium sweep to place third overall in the Marine Corps Marathon with a time of 2:25:05. All three top Marine Corps Marathon finishers were the top three men for the Armed Forces competition. Running in her first marathon, Army Capt. Meghan Curran (Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ) won the Marine Corps Marathon’s Women’s Crown with a time of 2:51:47.

Dec. 9, 2013 - The U.S. Armed Forces Marathon team fought through the heat and humidity for a strong showing at the 2013 Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) World Marathon Military Championship on 23 November in Paramaribo, Suriname.
