King Reigns Supreme, Claims Third Armed Forces Marathon Title

In a stunning display of endurance and determination, U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Kyle King of Quantico, VA, clinched his third victory at the Armed Forces Marathon Championship, and overall Marine Corps Marathon Champion. The event was held in conjunction with the 2025 Marine Corps Marathon on October 26, 2025.

King dominated the men’s field, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 2:18:54 to win the gold medal. His victory marks a significant milestone, solidifying his reputation as one of the top distance runners in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The U.S. Army demonstrated exceptional depth in the men's competition, securing the men’s team gold. Army runners also claimed the silver and bronze individual medals. SPC Goffrey Kipchumba of Fort Carson, CO, finished second with a time of 2:24:48, followed closely by his teammate CPT Kyle Smith, also from Fort Carson, who took third at 2:24:54.

In the women’s race, U.S. Army MAJ Meghan Sevcik of Westminster, CO, earned the individual gold medal, finishing with a commanding time of 2:43:14.

The U.S. Navy women's team showcased remarkable consistency to capture the women’s team title. The Navy’s top finishers included LT Madison Overby of Naval Station Norfolk, VA, who earned the silver medal with a time of 2:48:37, and LT Megan Walsh of NMC San Diego, CA, who secured the bronze at 2:48:43.

The 2025 Armed Forces Marathon Championship highlighted the exceptional athleticism and competitive spirit of service members from across the Department of War.
