Fort Lee to Host 2018 Armed Forces Bowling Championship

Fort Lee will host the 2018 Armed Forces Bowling Championship here April 14-16. This event will feature men and women teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force along with athletes from the Coast Guard competing on the Navy teams.

Last year, Navy Men captured gold for the first time since 2008.  On the Women’s side of the house, Air Force Women defended their crown for their second straight win.  Air Force Captain Danielle Crowder won the women’s title and took the King and Queen Title defeating her male gold medal counterpart Air Force Staff Sgt. James McTaggart.  
 
Media are invited to attend the opening ceremony at the TenStrike Bowling Center at Fort Lee at 11 a.m. on April 14, and the awards ceremony at the same location on April 16 at 4 p.m. Media are also invited to attend the following games at the Bowling Center starting on April 14 at noon; continuing through April 16.  Prior to the Armed Forces Championship, Service teams will conduct their respective qualifying rounds for final team selection from April 11-12.   

Media will have the opportunity for photos, video B-roll, and interviews with bowlers at each of the events.
