USA Orienteering will host a series of sanctioned events this spring. The U.S. Armed Forces Sports coordinator for Orienteering will host training camps in conjunction with these events to focus on terrain, navigational techniques and race strategy.
Athletes interested in attending the training camps must fund their own travel and expenses, but may be eligible to go on permissive TDY/TAD by their respective commands.
The events are as followed:
Point of contact for these events is LTC Victoria Campbell (Army) at firstname.lastname@example.org. Male and female results will count toward national rankings and will meet application requirements for the U.S. Armed Forces Orienteering Team that will compete at the Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) World Orienteering Military Championship in Finland.
Interested applicants for the U.S. Armed Forces Orienteering must complete a sports application from their respective branch of Service. Click here for further instructions. U.S. Armed Forces Orienteering team minimum requirements can be found at www.armedforcessports.com or click here to download the file.
