2006 CISM Modern Pentathlon

Nikloay Yaskov, of the Russian Army won the Men's Individual Competition at the 37th CISM Modern Pentathlon Champoinships, held in Kaunas, Lithuania, 28 May 2006. Yaskov completed the greuling five event competition with a total score of 5792. He was followed in second place by Libor Capalini of the Czech Republic, with 5728 points. Denis Cherkovskis of Lative captured third with 5708 points. Air Force Captain Eli Bremer was the top American finisher with 5352 points. Army First Lieutenant Niul Manske completed the competition in 26th polace with 5060 points. Army Privat Dennis Bowsher, who entered the riding competition in sixth place, encountered opposition from his horse, Gondola, and finished the competition in 30th place, with 4580 points.

Latvia won the team trophy, with the Czech Republic in second place, the Blearus claiming third.

The Women's Final will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2006, with the Men's Relay completing the competition on Monday, May 29, 2006. United States Army Second Liiutenant Michelle Kelly won the running event, and finished in fifth place at the XXXVII CISM Wolrd Championships, hled 28 May 2006, in Kaunas, Lithuania. LT Keely's day did not begin well, discovering a broken sight on her pistol during the shooting event, finishing the event in 10th place. She recuperated from her start with a personal record in the swim event, a perfect ride, and a first place in the running event. Viktoria Tereshuk from the Ukrane won the competition, with Laura Asadauskaite, and Elena Rublesvska, both from Lithuania, finishing
second and third. The final event, the men's relay takes place on Monday, 29 May 2006.
