| Mumbai, India, Oct. 14, 2007 –At the break of dawn, with 4 kilometers of the costal road of Marine Drive along the Girgaum Chowpatty Highway blocked off from city traffic, Team U.S.A., along with the other 30 member countries, took part in their first on-course practice run. This is the very course they will return to on Sunday to see who the best World Military Games triathlete is. Navy Cdr. | Mumbai, India, Oct. 14, 2007 – Word about a member of the Chinese Triathlon team found to have come up positive in an out of competition doping test has many asking why it has reached this level. For Team U.S.A. Head Coach Commander Scott Jones, he understands it all too well. “I think it’s the pressure for world-class athletes to perform,” said Jones. “We in the military have our military core values. Those values speak of honesty and integrity. Also, it’s just not something that the (U.S.) Armed Forces would tolerate in any way. Full Release |
| Press Release: Team U.S.A. Triathlon Waits For Their Turn |

| Mumbai, India, Oct. 14, 2007 – It’s going to be a long wait until Team U.S.A. Triathlon has their turn in the spotlight. In fact, they’ll have to wait until the very last day of competition. But for head coach Commander Scott Jones, it’s no problem. “It’s a pretty long layoff,” said Jones. “I think its going to be a challenge for (all) the athletes. These are all high volume athletes (they train at for long hours at a time), and that volume has been diminished by the availability of the training area here. It’s that way for all the athletes from all 21 countries, so I think it’s going to be a factor for all of them.” Full Release |
