Army beats Navy in Game Two of the Armed Forces Men’s Championship

Army Spc. Mamadou Seck of Fort Stewart, Georgia led day-one scoring with 21 points as Army beat Navy 79-74 in their first matchup of the 2016 Armed Forces Men’s Basketball Championship at the Barber Fitness Center at MCB Quantico, Virginia on November 1st.

Navy was up 41-38 at halftime and controlled much of the game until Army’s surge in the final 10 minutes of the game. Petty Officer Third Class Christopher Linton of the Coast Guard (Boston, Mass.) led Navy with 16 points.

Navy faces Air Force and Army faces Marine Corps in day-two action on November 2nd.

The 2016 Armed Forces Championship format consists of double round robin play, where each team faces one another twice for seeding. The top two best records will face one another in the championship match to claim the 2016 Armed Forces crown.
